Executive MBA career development
Giving you the tools you need to boost your career.
Our Executive MBAs are a diverse group, from a range of professions and industries. Our students often have different career goals, so we offer a really flexible approach to career development. Whatever you have in mind, we can help you unlock your potential.
Our Leadership Development Programme runs alongside the taught EMBA components. You’ll spend one day every two months exploring a range of themes designed to build up your leadership toolkit, enabling you to make the journey from manager to leader.
Our MBA Careers Team will help you during and after your MBA whether you want to:
- advance within your current organisation
- change career completely
- start your own business
We’ve designed the Executive MBA with input from global employers to make sure you get the knowledge and skills you need to achieve what you want to do.
Your career support
Whether you know what path you want to take or not, we know you want to be a leader. We can help you get there. And we’ll be there for you for three years after you graduate.
Support after you graduate
Your MBA doesn’t end when you graduate. Our MBA Careers Team will be available to you for three years after you finish.
Whether you want introductions to other MBA graduates in our network, a review of your CV or a career planning chat, we’ll be happy to help. We want to be there with you as your career grows.
Personal support tailored to you
Your career goal might be very specific, or you might not be sure what you want to do next. That’s why we offer support that’s made individually for you. Depending on your aspirations, we can offer tailored support that includes:
- CV reviews for promotion opportunities or applications with new organisations
- mock interviews to help you practise and improve your technique
- introductions to the School’s alumni network of over 25,500 people
- access to the University’s Innovations Service for help developing your business idea
- chances to discuss your plans – and how to achieve them – with career development professionals
Executive coaching
Work one-to-one with an executive coach throughout your MBA. You’ll be able to discuss your professional and personal development with an independent and fully-accredited coaching expert.
Over your two years with us you’ll meet regularly with your coach, set goals and reflect on your progress.
These confidential sessions are a great way to focus your personal and professional development. You’ll also get help with any current work challenges you’re facing.
Mentoring
Our MBA graduates work all over the world in every sector you could imagine. They include successful executives and entrepreneurs from a range of backgrounds. And they love helping our students be their best.
As an Executive MBA, you’ll have access to our pool of mentors. You’ll be able to get advice from people with relevant skills and experience who have been through it all before.
A lot of our mentors are Bath MBA alumni. Many of our graduates come back to support and mentor the next generation of MBA students. This helps ensure that specialist skills, knowledge and experiences can be shared and built upon.
Personal and professional development

- self-confidence
- creative leadership
- impactful leadership
We’ve designed the programme to offer a holistic approach to leadership development. Assessment will be through a group reflective essay at the end of each module.

The MBA gave me the opportunity to lift myself up as an individual and look at business with more strategic context and thinking. I was able to see things from a C-Suite level and apply units and modules to board level. That was the step change in my career that I wanted and needed.
